COBI JONES ELITE CAMP A SUCCESS

Over winter break young athletes had the opportunity to attend an exclusive three-day camp with superstar Cobi Jones. Prior to arrival, expectation from the kids was a large overcrowded camp. Instead they received quite the opposite. It was a special experience filled with overall attention to skill, health, nutrition and fun. Cobi Jones reflected, “That was the idea, we wanted it to be intimate and personal.” Players attended from all over California and some even ran into some familiar faces from their leagues back home. To end the camp the kids competed in a World Cup scrimmage followed by personal autographed jerseys and balls.

Superstar players that went above and beyond were recognized by Cobi to their peers and received backpacks. “From the quality of the coaching, to the attention the kids had plus the backdrop of the snow on the mountains, it was a perfect day to play soccer,” said guest speaker Ralph Perez, the coach for University of Redlands. Many new friendships were made and every player left smiling, excited to return home and share their first experience from Silverlakes.
